One of the best parts of the Little Lights College and Career Program is watching students dream big about their futures as they learn about various career paths and colleges.

Last week, a group of seven 8th-11th grade students traveled to Elizabeth City, NC with four members of Little Lights staff to visit Elizabeth City State University. Students enjoyed touring the HBCU’s campus, speaking with a current student about their college experience, and eating at the dining hall.

After the trip, one of the high school students shared that “they see the possibility of going to college.” We are excited to see students dream about what life after high school can look like!

It is such a privilege or us to support high school students as they gain the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate their postsecondary endeavors – and we can’t do this work without you!

If you would like to support Little Lights students as they begin their college journeys, you can make a donation to the Thomas and Linda Rice Scholarship.
